Labor Day Weekend Was AWESOME!

The menagerie of people was reason enough to go to Lake Mead for Labor Day.

We had all types from brides, to tattooed covered couples, to beauty queens, to old, wrinkled farts.
People watching was clearly at an all time high along with most out-of-towners being more than willing to strike up a conversation at the blackjack table.
I didn't really help the cause since I clocked in at about 10 pm and played until 9 am.
So many people came and went all with their own stories of life and same chant,

Remember that Pacific Life commercial?!?!

Well here it is....

But unfortunately they didn't pick my footage

I try to tell myself that they had a certain idea already brewing of how they wanted the commercial to look and not that one actress was better than the other

or

that they really strived for the dark coloring to add to the effect of the film

or

that they wanted old age and treachery over youth and skill.

Any of which, not getting picked still sucks.

But no matter what I tell myself in hopes of feeling better, I keep thinking, 

"I could have done something more" 

"She was just better than you."  

"You make really dumb faces in your action shots."  

"I wouldn't have picked you either."

Let's hope I have better luck with the Nike commercial.

Labor Day Plans

I get to go here tomorrow!

I am so thrilled!

A weekend full of wake boarding, tubing, lying on a raft and drinking margaritas.

The last time my  family went on a vacation together I am pretty certain I still had a mouth full of metal braces, a training bra, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas glued to my school binder.

Clearly not much has changed.

On a different note...

Today was a very special day

I got to see my beautiful sister and my adorable 5 month old niece Stella.

I can't believe how big she has gotten!

I also got to see my amazing great aunt Adeline who is turning 99 on Friday.

She is absolutely fabulous.  So smart and witty and completely there.  She remembers things that no one else in the family can remember and she screams around with her little walker.

Such a hoot!

P.S. It really makes my day when I have new followers.
